Group from Chalmaaro, Peshawar
As for Group 10, ODLP consulted the previous students from Chalmaaro and inquired the literacy situation in the region. With the help of them, ODLP decided to educate one more group of students from this village and build on further to create a strong network of ODLP Alumni in the region. Farseeing the goals, ODLP intend to merge these Alumni into productive activities for future purposes and ensure success for all. Hence, the good work continued and teaching of Group 10 began. This was a landmark moment for ODLP as it reflects back on the time and journey to reach tenth group of success.
ABOUT THE STUDENTS:
1.Aleena
2. Rakhshanda
3. Humaira
4. Sadia
5. Ammara
6. Maryam
BEFORE THE CLASSES:
Before the classes, the students were deprived of the basic right of education, like the other groups. Since this was the third group in this village, there was a good understanding developed with the parents and respective neighborhood. The graduates of ODLP from this village helped a great deal in recruiting the students. Now, about the students, they were considerably lesser in variations in terms of age as all of the students were either 14 or 15. This helped a lot in developing an understanding among the students once the classes kicked off. Before the classes, these girls had nothing substantial in their lives. They'd wake up by the sunrise and sleep as soon as the sun would fall after getting all the household work done. This led to nothing but stress and humiliation for these girls when they'd watch the superior ones go to schools, enjoying their day, play with their friends and getting better in terms of their lifestyles.
